After that, McCabe is back in dreary Portland on Saturday for Action Sport Tour Portland Afterparty, turning that frown upsidedown with DJ Dave Allen from Gang of Four and others.

Well la-di-da, ...Earth To The Dandy Warhols... on the iTunes. People ask -- they demand to know -- does the album title necessitate the ellipses? We say yes. You need the ellipses for to cushion you from a concussion of rock and roll. You wouldn't sleep on gravel, would you? No, you would take your sweater off and lay that on the ground first.

Zia DJing in L.A. 08/21
There was blood everywhere. Smeared across my cheeks, it made me looked painted as some Bowery whore turn century, the last. You know, when 'Bowery' was a word not spent in mixed company. My hand, it turned out, wasn't much of a bandage, at least not as much as I had been led to believe form old World War II movies. I'm not sure if it can be considered a gush; the tide wouldn't take anyone along with its current. But, yeah, it was pretty bad. I only had four hours, I estimated. I mean, I was no doctor, but it couldn't be too much longer.
Which kind of made it all the more surprising that, what with my fuente de la sangre, I chose to spend my last remaining minutes with my dying flesh on this planet Earth at Spaceland. Yes, instead of seeking the assistance of a hospital. Zia McCabe was DJing, and from what I heard, she had the healing power of DUB. Zia did get grossed out when I hugged her. I mean, who wouldn't? My guts had just been eaten out by a dog while trying to steal a car. That's my life!

We Gotta Get Out Of This Hemisphere
I just saw some dude spray painting the lawn and sidewalk -- off Lovejoy, under the 405 -- white. The guy was obviously on official business, because he was wearing Jerry Seinfeld pants. When I spray paint things like that, it's called "vandalizing". (Art is what they call it in the year 2020 -- you'll see, Tom Potter.) However, I don't ever recall spray painting actual living, breathing grass. Dumb.
So, our city is so stupid sometimes. Get it? (Don't move here.) Where do we like to get away to? Our home away from home, our not so secret love, Australia. Damn straight.

Brasil Flap
We are sad to say it but we're forced to cancel our shows in Brasil, and we're really not sure why. It has something to do with government agencies and such? Beats us. We're trying to get these gigs in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo rescheduled, because we really want to play there, so we'll let you know what comes of it.

Trucker Radio
...Earth To The Dandy Warhols... will be in stores in a little more than a month in the U.S. A lot of you have purchased it in advance via our Fan Club, so you know how great it is. But some cool people haven't heard a peep yet, because they're busy, you know? We need to get our songs on the radio. So, we're asking you to call up or email your city's cool station (you know the one) and request that they play the Trucker Song ("The Legend of the Last of the Outlaw Truckers") so more people can hear it and we can sell some records and keep doing this forever and ever.

Europe and Brazil and Stuff
Hey, what's up. Spain, France, Italy, sell-out show in Zurich. Really having an spectacular time.
We're super excited about our first shows in Brazil coming up in August. We were sorry we couldn't swing it when we were in South America for Argentina and Chile last year, so we're super stoked to get in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo on August 28th and 29th, respectively. Should be fun.
And, if you're in PDX and going to see Jesus and Mary Chain at the Wonder on the 17, why don't you go a little early to catch our best friends and label mates, The Upsidedown. JAMC and the Upsidedown? That shit should be pretty crazy.

Re: Vancouver
We would like to apologize to our fans about what happened in Vancouver, re the change in venue. When the gig was moved, it was not revealed to us that the new venue was not all-ages, and that left a lot of people who had already purchased tickets out in the cold. It makes no difference that this information was withheld from us until showtime and until it was too late to rectify the situation, a lot of you had your night ruined because of it, and the responsibility ultimately falls to us. For this, we sincerely apologize and hope you will not hold it against us if our paths cross again in the future.

What's up 2008. Our friend Nathan Jr is calling it 2000-NATE. You should try that one on. We all went to a party here for The Eve thrown by our friend Mattress. New bands from our friends Rick and Amy Bain, Matt Hollywood, and Brian Coates played. That's always fun. What did you do?
We're mixing our new record, getting the sound just right. It's pretty much the most important part of the whole deal. So, shhhhhhh.
Grassman has the submissions for our t-shirt contest. We're going to have you vote on what designs you think are best in the next week or so. We'll let you know.
