The Dandy Warhols will appear at Parkenfestivalen in Bodø, Norway on 21st August, 2015. Apparently tickets have been sold out for a long while, so this is a note for posterity’s sake more than anything.
Seems your Dandy Warhols have had the same general website template for over five years. So I figured it’s probably time to change it up, since everyone just looks at the world wide web on telephones now in the future. While there is never a good time to initiate this kind of operation, the band is recording a record and nothing else is going on, so it is probably the only time to do it. “SO WHAT GOTHMAN?” So if you see the site lookin’ green around the gills, just know that I’m working on making it look better, and that my trial and error methods of interweb administration is probably the closest you will ever be to watching a great master like Picasso, Rembrandt, or Julian Schnabel work. Yes I totally threw out a Schnabel!
Peter G. Holmström knows how much Zia’s non profit Sun Cedar means to her, so he made her a gift of these stenciled trees to offer fans on her birthday. (Thanks Pete.)
Zia’s one birthday day request is that everyone who can, joins her Kickstarter campaign for Sun Cedar. Sun Cedar manufactures hand made, all-natural aromatic ornaments and gifts in a green shop staffed by ex-offenders and the homeless.
Zia believes whole heartedly in this project and would like for you to do the same. Hurry, it’s a very limited supply.
Joining The Dandy Warhols to support the summer shows in Sheffield (30/7) and Manchester (31/7) are our friends Dark Horses. As we have toured about Europe with the Horses the past couple years you may already be well acquainted. But should you find yourself cast the ignoramus, please make yourself aware of their magical sounds at this time.
Joining your Dandy Warhols in Dublin (3/8) are The Vincents, for whom our own captain Courtney Taylor-Taylor has remixed some trax, one of which you can bathe in above.
Tickets are available for all these shows, what’s your hold up, chief?
The Dandy Warhols are happy to support Sun Cedar, a green company that employs folks from our at risk population. Our own Zia McCabe is serving on the board of this great non-profit and we couldn’t be more proud. To learn more about Sun Cedar and to join in, please see their Kickstarter campaign.
I love Man For All Seasons. Hollywood Theatre in Portland is running a rare print this Saturday April 25th. You should go if you get a chance. So good.
The Dandy Warhols will be performing at Splendour in the Grass in New South Wales, Australia this July, with all sorts of rock and roll ne’er do wells like Blur and The Wombats and Death Cab for Cutie. Tickets go on sale Thursday, 23 April at 9am at moshtix.com.au.
We have a few shows to tell you about for this summer. The Dandy Warhols will be playing in Sheffield, England, on July 30th at The Leadmill; Manchester, England, July 31st at The Ritz, and Dublin, Ireland, August 3rd at The Academy. Ticket information for these shows are forthcoming.
NO SHOWS WHAT?
The Dandy Warhols’ latest single “Chauncey P vs All the Girls in London” is available now.
Court, Peter, and Zia will be appearing at Everyday Music in downtown Portland the night of April 18th – Record Store Day – the three original Dandys will be performing stripped down versions of songs from DANDYS RULE OK, then DJ a bit. Our set goes on at 8pm, though if you want to buy a copy of the exclusive RSD 2-LP edition of DANDYS RULE OK on vinyl we suggest you show up twelve hours earlier, if you catch our drift.
