The Dandy Warhols have teamed up with Mercy Corps to auction of our infamous Xmas sweater to benefit families in need. Won’t you please take a look at the fundrasing page at MercyCorps.org and give. You could win a one of a kind piece of Dandys history but more importantly you can help out some families in need during these catastrophic times.
Our old friends The Wolfmen (Marco Pirroni and Chris Constantinou) have a fantastic single coming out December 5th on Cadiz Music. It’s called “Jackie, Is It My Birthday” and it features Sinéad O’Connor on vocals. (PS: I love this song, Sinéad’s voice gives me the shivers.) This song was mixed by our Courtney Taylor-Taylor and Jacob Portrait, in case you were waffling on picking it up.
Our young friends 1776 have their album out now on Beat The World. You can download that from iTunes HERE. I saw some copies of the CD laying around the office, so I’m sure that you’ll also be able to buy that version soon.
Hey old-timers. In celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the release of the very popular Nervermind by a band called Nirvana, Reimagine Music and producer Jim Sampas have put together a tribute featuring covers of all the tunes that made up said classic album. And this cover-album bursts into the public conciousness Tuesday, October 25th. Why, that just might be tomorrow!
Say, how does this news specifically relate to our The Dandy Warhols? Courtney Taylor-Taylor and Brent Deboer, under their Dutch Masters umbrella, were kind enough to contribute a cover of the popular parking-lot staple “Smells Like Teen Spirit” to this collection. That’s how you know it’s good!
More/better information about this release can be digested from this blog article HERE.
Can you believe that it’s October 11th and and we haven’t even talked about CHRISTMAS yet? What a sorry state of affairs. This empire is in shambles! I was in the stadium Fred Meyer the other day and they had all jack o’lanterns and witch wigs – not at all Christmassy! HERETICS!
Anyway, with the first irreverent paragraph completed, it’s time to announce the annual Dandy Warhols Christmas shows set to take place this year over three nights in early December. On Friday, December 9th and Saturday, December 10th, The Dandy Warhols will play the new Star Theater in NW Portland. These two shows are 21 and over. On Sunday, December 11, The Dandy Warhols will play an all-ages matinee at Doug Fir on East Burnside in Portland. Joy to the freakin’ world.
Tickets for STAR THEATER (21+) go on sale to the general public Friday, October 14th at 10am HERE.

The new season of Discovery Channel’s popular Mythbusters is set to debut on September 28th with a new version of their theme song interpreted by your Dandy Warhols. I’ll try to get Court or Pete or someone to give a little insight on how this all came about. I think everyone is in the desert right now for that Dirty Hippy Hootenanny ’11.
There’s pretty much no doubt that Clean Air Clear Stars is the coolest festival on the planet. For years these cool cats have been putting on a hell of a show with legendary line-ups including BRMC, Spindrift, the Upsidedown, Dead Meadow, the Black Angels, and many, many more. CACS is all volunteer and community organized and managed and that’s what makes it so damn cool. This year, CACS is asking for help raising money for operating costs. Things like lights and sound and equipment rentals need to be secured before the event. If you can find it in ya to fork over a few bucks to help this cause, please do so at the Clean Air Clear Stars Kickstarter.
Many people have expressed interest in making their way down I-5 from Portland or Seattle for our performance at the Great Idea Festival at Enchanted Forest (Salem) on August 5th, but heretofore were stymied at the notion of ticket long distance face-to-face ticket procurement. If you were one of these people be stymied no more, as you can now purchase the festival tickets online HERE.
Tickets can be also now purchased at Jackpot Records locations in Portland.
