I hope that these aren’t he two last shots from the just completed tour. Where are all the fan submitted pics? Not in my inbox, I can tell you that. Thanks to Zia and Court for sending in updates from the road.
Evan and Pete.

PS. I should check out MySpace/Facebook before I go shooting my mouth off, lots of fan pics there. Like this one by Yanayaya:
So the Dandys are at the Clean Air Clear Stars festival Saturday night, but we’re hoping that you’re making your way there, well, right now, because the fun starts Friday night with some supercool bands and other debaucheries. And on Saturday, there is a whole Oregon Trail wagon-load of Beat The World bands playing. Oh yeah, like who, Gothman? Well, our newest band, 1776, will be playing at 1pm, you do not want to miss these kids. At 6pm, our returning champs, The Upisdedown, take the stage, and at 8pm it’s our tour latest tour partners, Sprindrift. Then the Dandys go on at 9pm. Then the world blows up. Then there is Sunday with a bunch more groovy cats.
If you’re in Portland, catch the remaining Beat The World artist Logan Lynn as he plays MFNW tonight, 9pm at East End. Check that out, and check out Logan’s great new record, From Pillar to Post.
Did you skip the opening page of the website? I know I usually do, but we have a couple of tunes for you to listen to this time around, or covers of “Sister Golden Hair” and “You Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere”. Click the banner at the very top of the page to go there. Just look at those Dandys… those dirty hippies.
I was in the Redwoods when I talked to Court. They were all still in Denver, realxing after the Monolith Festival yesterday, watching Roger Federer at the U.S. Open. I thought I missed the finals, and it turned out, yeah, I did. When I talked to Court I was 30 or so miles from Arcata, my desination for the evening, and the score of the match was two sets to one in favor of Federer. I hoped if I hurried I could make it to a shitbag motel fast enough to see the end of the match.
Well, it didn’t quite work out that way. As I pulled in to Arcata, I got a text from Court: “Federer lost.” The only thing on the motel tee-vee is trashy un-reality shows with hollow women with puffy lips, and (American) football with beefy bruisers with puffy everything. Guess I’ll go hang out with some college kids who are young enough to be my children.
This is from Court from yesterday:
CTT: Holy shitzky. Glitch Mob rules my stoned.
More pics from this tour can be seen on our Flickr page. Yeah.
Thanks to everyone coming out for our fun little Dandy tour with Spindrift. The band will be playing the Clean Air Clear Stars festival in Pioneertown, CA on Saturday (Sept. 19). Hope to see you there.
You ever been to Weed, CA? I’ve been through there a million times, snickering just like everyone else. Today as I was passing through I noticed that they had a billboard advertising “I [heart] Weed” t-shirts. They finally figured it out. Well, technically, it’s “I [heart] Weed” with a tiny “California” added at the bottom. They should have put it in parentheses. Now THAT would have been dumb.
If the updates are sporatic this week-ish it is because Collie-fornia loves to password protect their wi-fi more than Oregon. Bear with me, I’m technically on vacation.
WHO CARES, GOTHMAN.

Court sends in some fun stuff.
CTT: No I’m really who I say I am. I’ll pay you ANYTHING to get back into my room and go to sleep. (Austin TX)
CTT: According to this parking lot Albuquerque was founded by three hot Edwardian women who liked hanging out around sweaty Indian men. Prolly not far from the truth.
And this little gem Court wants you to see:

The Dandys will be in Aspen on Saturday and at the Monolith Festival on Sunday. They’ll see you there.
The Dandys are in St. Louis tonight at Pop’s. Well, it’s across the river in Saugut, for youse without the GPSs and stuff. I have to get one of those. Remember when everyone just drove around not knowing where anything is? That me still. That’s just one reason whey I never venture into North Portland. I mean, there are dozens of reasons to not go to North Portland, but getting lost is at the very top of the list. And I’ve lived in Portland for fifteen years. Dumb.

Here’s some pics, guys.
I don’t know who this is, Zia sent it at 2am our time.
Here’s Tildy being Tildy.
Court forgot this one from yesterday, too. Or it’s from two days ago. Either way, it’s way old in interweb terms.
Saturday, the Dandys are in Oklahoma City, where they haven’t played since it’s been a state. And Monday they are in Houston. Tickets still are still up for grabs for both shows.

Pete sends along a Pete International Airport performance. That’s Peter and Jsun Upsidedown there. Awesome.
Court’s got a movie review for District 9. You can see that on his movie review page.

Finally, our friend and label mate Logan Lynn has been getting a lot of ink ‘n pixels about his awesome new record From Pillar to Post. The record is ready for pre-release this weekend and you can check that out on his site.
The band is in Kansas City tonight to play at the Beaumont Club, but arrived on Wednesday to check things out. Both Zia and Court sent home pics so I thought I would combine them into one post. You know the deal.
COURT: Lots of famous old photos on these greasy walls. The Robert Johnson look-a-like behind the register yells “YOUNG MAN” at everyone. Even Zia. He proably did at Jimmy Carter, too.
ZIA: Best BBQ in Kansas City I’m told. Honestly I preferred the stuff Poopy got us in Arkansas better…..
ZIA: In case anyone wants to know what our meal looked like.
One last one from Courtney:
COURT: K.

The band, touring with BTW labelmates Spindrift, will be appearing tonight at K.C.’s Beaumont Club, and will be in St. Louis on Friday and Oklahoma City on Saturday.
