This is Odditorium or Warlords of Mars

But Laundry Is Still the Fifth Dimension

This is our new site. If you want to see it in 3D, make sure to get 3D glasses that have red and cyan, or red and blue (though red and cyan works best). Those work best. But we think it still looks pretty cool without the glasses.

There are may be some bugs to be worked out with the site, links not going to the right places, that sort of thing, so please be patient with us. Aside form that, everything should be here. Hope you have fun.

Watch Out For That Closet, Fibber

Tara at our favorite radio station 94.7fm here in Portland wanted everyone to know that the station is now streaming online and will be playing some new songs of ours from time to time. Maybe we can get her to play “Hard on for Jesus” for Easter. (You are ready for Easter, right?) Anyway, take a listen to the station. It’s cooler than pretty much any station, especially any station that featured Sean Gothman talking over songs and irritating listeners.

The Dandy Warhols, Professional Dinner-Eaters

Nick, Simon, and Andy from Duran Duran came for dinner at The Odditorium friday night (03.11.05), bringing our old friends Gus Van Sant and Paige Powell with them. We had such a great time, we did not remember to take any photos or even think to film the little jam session, but if you really need an image to sum up the night, this would be it:

Norman Lindsay

Oh yeah, if you have a chance to see Duran Duran on their tour, do it. They really rock.

Are you Ready For Easter, And Other Inside Jokes

We know what you’re thinking.

  1. Our new record, ODDITORIUM OR WARLORDS OF MARS, is being mastered as we speak. We hope to get it to Capitol right after that and hopefully they will put it out before summer.
  2. Yes, SMOKE IT is the first single. We shot the video a couple of weeks ago.
  3. We don’t know what we’re doing yet about touring this summer. We’ll let you know when we decide.
  4. Yes, we’re still working on a DVD, but what’s the rush, you have somewhere to go?
  5. Yes, life is great.

And Gothy want the kids to know that the new website is about 93% done, and should go up in the next couple of weeks. Funn.

Peter on 94/7

Pete will be on Portland’s 94/7 (KNRK) this morning from about 10-11 this morning talking about the big Tsunami benefit show.

(Tickets are still available, but going fast! Better snap up yours today!)

Benefit Details Finalized

The Mercy Corps Tsunami Relief Benefit is happening January 28th at Portland’s Roseland Theater. The line-up includes The Warhols, The Out Crowd, Durango Park, The Upsidedown, and Colin Meloy from The Decemberists. Tickets are $15 and can be obtained at all Portland locations of Ozone, Jackpot , and Music Millennium record stores or online at TicketsWest. All proceeds from this event are going to Mercy Corps. If you can’t make it to the show, we encourage you to donate to Mercy Corps to help with the relief efforts.

Relief Show Update

We are still working on the full line-up for the Jan. 28th benefit. We have had The Decemberist’s Colin Meloy agree to open. I should know the rest of the line-up soon.

Thanks,
Peter

Gregg Williams

Hey. Gregg Williams can finally shave, because our new record is completely finished, and we’re now looking for a mixer. Looks like Capitol wants the first single to be a song called “SMOKE IT”. That’s all for now.
