The Dandy Warhols are excited to tell you all about our first-ever LIVE Dandys album: Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia Live at the Wonder. We realize that maybe a Dandys live album is long overdue, but we really wanted to get it right, you know? We wanted a live album with no overdubs or re-recording, so when we put that “LIVE” on the cover, we mean it.
Recorded in June 2013 at Portland’s Wonder Ballroom, Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia Live at the Wonder documents The Dandy Warhols’ 13/13/13 Tour – a year long celebration of the 13th anniversary of (arguably) our most popular record, Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia. We run through every track from Thirteen Tales in order: starting with the layers of e-bow, jangle, and trumpet on “Godless” all the way through to the sparse hop-a-long epic “The Gospel.”
Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia Live at the Wonder will be available March 25th, 2014 on CD, double-LP (with bonus tracks), and digital download from our partners at The End Records (US) & on Naive Records (GSA & France).

UPDATE 3/15: Yeah, we’ve sold out of the first pressing of the Thirteen Tales Live double-LP. We’ll let everyone know when we have more. IN the meantime, the compact disc bundle options are still available at Omega Order, and you can pre-order digital versions of the album at iTunes and Amazon.

For our first set of 2014 tour dates we wanted to play some places we had not played in a long time. Cities like Sacramento, Santa Fe, St. Louis, and Nashville have gone so long without some Dandy fun it’s a damn shame. So here is what we are thinking for April and May 2014:

Los Dandy Warhols have joined the party at Suburbia Music Festival, May 3-4 in Plano, Texas. Tickets go on-sale next Saturday, January 25th.

Our friend Logan Lynn speaks to Courtney Taylor-Taylor, Carrie Brownstein (Sleater-Kinney, Portlandia), and Calvin Johnson (K-Records founder) about the Crystal Ballroom‘s centennial celebration their favorite memories of the legendary Portland venue.
Taylor-Taylor: Right now, it is the focal center of Portland’s world-renowned indie music scene. It is the single, central part of it. It gets the biggest bands, the best bands. The Vic in Chicago, The Fillmore in San Francisco, The 9:30 Club in Washington D.C., 1st Avenue in Minneapolis, Crystal in Portland — these are the legendary rooms.
