Alright, enough fun and games, this album title biznass is muy serio. Forget all about Shitty Shitty Bang Bang. That was RJ’s dumb idea. I dont know how I fell for that one. Nor the other one which Sarah Jane had foisted upon me in a drunken fog. The real name is a western name, cuz this here is gonna be a spaghetti western record.
See, Spindrift and Gram Rabbit started it, Federale continued it , and someone just told me that Jack White and Danger Mouse are gonna make a spaghetti western record now too. So guess what…. Our whole theme is now guns in the deep Southwest! Lawless trigger-happy badboys of movie legend. It’s called Whirled Piece and it’s about how they could all spin those heavy old sixguns on their finger really well. Imagine all the practice, the alone time, the determination.
We will be playing an all-ages show on March 10th at University Chapel in SE Portland as a part of Google’s Hotpot concert series. The show is free, but you will need to get a wristband for entry. Follow @HotpotPDX on Twitter for details on where to get your wristband.
Alright, it’s not actually gonna be called Pastor of Muppets.
Its gonna be called Shitty Shitty Band Band. That whole Pastor thing was just so arrogant. So full of itself. I think SSBB is good cuz it’s humble, ya know? Like Beck. Remember when he was a loser baby so why don’t you kill him?

Okay, me and Pete are finishing up our vocal and guitar basic tracks for the forthcoming Dandy Warhols album, tentatively titled The Pastor of Muppets. Zia and Fatty will likely be done by the end of the month, then the mixing nightmare followed by mastering. mixedmasteredmarch.
Last night’s show was pretty great. There’s no place like home. Probably a good thing that’s the end of the tour, because last night would be pretty hard to top. Wow, what a great crowd.
The Dandys want to thank all the great crowds who took planes and trains and busses and found parking and got baby sitters and worked an extra hour or two just to come see us in 2010. Hope you had a blast. It might be the most fun we’ve ever head. But I bet we have more fun in 2011. It’s always more and more fun. How does that even work??
PS: This means we’ve played three great shows in a row in Seattle (Neumo’s, Bumbershoot and Showbox), a place I always considered us to be hit or miss. Nice to know we’ve got a place so close to home we can now count on enjoying. Way to go Seattle fans!
The Dandy Warhols 2010 North American Tour resumes Wednesday night as we cross the border to Victoria for a show at Sugar Nightclub. Then it’s on to Vancouver the next night at Commodore Ballroom, and Seattle’s Showbox at the Market on Friday, December 3rd. We pick back up in San Diego (Solana Beach) on Tuesday, December 7th at Belly Up, then over to a rare show in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock on Wednesday the 8th. On Friday, December 10th we are in Los Angeles at Club Nokia, then up the coast to the City and County of San Francisco and the Regency Ballroom on Saturday (12/11) before returning home to Portland on Sunday the 12th for the final Dandys show of the year at the Crystal Ballroom.
Plus, some lucky so-and-sos will have a chance to win tickets to our shows in Seattle, LA, and SF from TheRFW.COM. God bless us everyone!
