Surprise. Did you think that the video for “Welcome to the Third World” was forgot? Ha.
The video was directed by Webster Colcord and Mr. C. Taylor, with the skeletons by Dan Berry. And the tune, of course, is from our 2008 Beat The World release …Earth To The Dandy Warhols…
This video is up now at Yahoo, and you can buy it on iTunes.
Yep. You literally will never know what is going to happen next around here.
We’re adding new shows to our summer tour at a ridiculous pace. There’s even more on the way. Ever thought about subscribing to the show rss feed? If your answer was no, think again.
Fathead had a tidy Q and A in today’s Oregonian about his new collection of songs. He’ll being playing a benefit for MS this Friday night at The Woods on SE Millwuakie in Portland, if you want to check that out. Zia will be DJing as well.

So I’m thinking about getting a whippet. But my landlord just said I couldn’t have pets. The nerve! (Like I didn’t know already.) Should I just move or what? Keep in mind that I have lived int his apartment for six years and before that Fathead lived here for six years. It’s obviously the best apartment ten feet from an interstate in the WORLD. Sure, it will never survive even the smallest of earthquakes, it really feels like home. But dogs are pretty funny.
ITEM: When I was talking about working on a new record, I did not mean the Capitol Records retrospective slated for release in a few months. But yeah, that’s coming. Two new Dandys song? Never before seen photographs? Full greyscale packaging? What? Want a preview of it?
Wait, I think that might be one of those shirts you get at Urban Outfitters. Guys, the Capitol logo is a classic. It’s the greatest logo in all of music. Yes, even better than that dog staring into an old-timey phonograph. That dog died 100 years ago, it’s depressing.

ITEM: Fathead’s on Twitter now. You can follow him at @fatheaddeboer. Court still tweets at @courtneyTaylor2, and Lee helms the band Twitter at @TheDandyWarhols. I also just spend like an hour setting up a Beat The World Twitter @BeatTheWorldRec. What’s the deal with this Fail Whale? Why is he so smug?
(I had the idea today that if Dorothy Parker TWEETED her classic line, “boys don’t make passes at girls who wear glasses”, that 90% of her responses would not only get the joke, but most of those would angrily try to prove her wrong. “Actually I take great offense to this statement. I wear glasses and I sleep with ten different guys a week.” Crumbs.)

Well, that’s it. There were a couple of real news items in there, somewhere.
