This family is up and in the hot tub by 7 am. Gotta respect the amount of zeal that must take.
More Brisbane cityscape.
Midnight juggernauts. They’re really good live.
Dan Black is amazing. Whoa.
By the way, TESSERACT turned out to be a very good book. A number of modern fiction cliches but this guy has such a strong and interesting “thing” that they seem intrinsic to the whole trip. Really good. And way more depth than the beginning had indicated. Definitely read it.
Bravo, dude.
The two things that make this really mean something to me are the Grateful Dead shirt and the Star Wars pillowcase. I’ve carried that fucker around for years. Through airports. Across continents. It helps me sleep.
Then, of course, perfectly three – or more likely four (but definitely not five) – star stylings are a hugely repetitive part of my life too. Not only of my life but of all touring rock bands who are good enough to achieve international travel and accommodations paid for by the promoter.
Nice.
I think I’m going through a phase in my life right now where I’m really appreciating how cool all the little details are and not really sweating too much of the negative shit. If it persists til the end of this tour I’m pretty sure I will not be bummed…. But then again I’m pretty drunk right now.
Ok, I’m on my way to Australia and this is my book. So far its frustratingly over-descriptive and way too self-consciously cool…. but I must add that at least it actually IS cool, enough. Cool in an exotic foreign poverty kind of way. Oooh. Deep.
By the time I get to Australia I’ll be long since done and will letcha know if its worth the fourteen bucks and/or the time it took to read it instead of something else.
Oh my god, it’s a veritable coup d’etat of great acting, directing, editing, writing, cinematograhy, thinking and above all genius casting. Wow, this is genius on every level. See it now if you didn’t then.
If you’ve booked your elderly lead because he looks pathetic enough to play Don Quixote, or if you’re going to lease a nearly wothless tract of land to shoot in Spain when the Spaniard leasing agent says “well there’s only one leetle problem with it”, just walk away.
Portland rock club Satyricon , dubbed by some as CBGB of the West Coast, will be closing its doors forever in October, but not without a month-long send off for a quarter century of service to the Portland rock community.
When The Dandys were asked to participate in this send off, we said “of course.” Some of the band’s most memorable moments from its formative years took place between Satyricon’s graffitied walls. It was a no-brainer to ask Swoon 23 and Sugarboom, friends and Tim/Kerr label mates, to join us. Yeah, that’s a pretty legendary line-up. But then we thought, huh, what’s missing from this picture. Well, it turned out that missing piece was Eric Hedford. So, for the first time in over twelve years, Eric Hedford, drummer and founding member of The Dandy Warhols, will be performing with the band.
I know it sounds too good to be true. And if you were born before 1979, it is. See, we thought it that since this is kind of a scene reunion show that we have the party be for ages thirty-one (31) and over. Even worse news, I’m sure there will be no smoking allowed. Have you ever seen a clear Satyricon? I haven’t. Seems wrong.
How does one go about getting tickets? Lee has the answer:
So here’s the deal…
There’s a total of 240 tickets available for the 10/16 Satyricon gig and 2 ways to make sure you get tickets.

We seriously dig fashion, and fashion has always dug us. So it’s supercool that we have been asked to play at Fashion’s Night Out Los Angeles this Friday in LA at Ron Herman on Melrose.
PRPS and Ron Herman present a special live musical performance by indie rock darlings The Dandy Warhols in celebration of Fashions Night Out Los Angeles. As a part of Vogue’s global initiative to celebrate fashion and promote retail, this highly anticipated Los Angeles shopping night will feature exciting showcases from renowned LA designers, photographers, and artists all under one roof…
See? Darlings. We invite you to come on by if you’re around. Other cool cats like Mark Mothersbaugh (!!), Taylor Jacobson, Shanna Moakler, Holly Robinson Peete, Garth Trinidad, Camryn Manheim, and some of our BRMC friends will be there.
