Ham-fisted made-for-tv production makes this not only unwatchable but also makes these sometimes great actors seem like ten year olds who just got handed their first script.
This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Caffe Vita will help us to celebrate a Fellini inspired Italian Holiday fete. Vita will be providing free espresso and *gelato affogato at the three (nearly) sold out shows.
*Vita will be providing free espresso at all three shows, and free gelato at the Seattle show. Staccatto Gelato will be selling Gelato at the Portland shows. Gelato Affogato = a scoop of gelato drowned in espresso.

Listen, I know it’s cold. It’s awful and no one likes it, and anyone who says they do are just trying to be stylishly contrarian. Hey, I get, it, you want to be unique, but come on – cold is dumb. Most of us will be delighted to find out that the weather wizards are plotting a warmer weekend. Forties? That’s almost Mediterranean, segue, in time for our Italian Xmas Extravaganzas, or Extravaganzi? What is the latin plural for Extravag?
Look, we are almost sold out of these tickets for admission to these shows, and I hate to think that you’re going to be shut out in sultry forty degree weather not wearing a coat. It almost makes me sick! Do not get shut out like all those people I refuse to text back the night of the show. Get your tickets for Seattle (Friday 12/11 with Hawkeye) HERE. Get your tickets for PDX (Saturday 12/12 with The Upsidedown – 21+, Sunday 12/13 with 1776 – all ages) HERE.
Sidebar, your honor: The people would have you to know that an all ages show does not mean dry. If it pleases you to consume alcoholic beverages this Sunday at The Dandy Warhols all ages show with 1776, the Wonder Ballroom will be happy to serve those beverages to you with your proper legal identification. Of-age and underage patrons are to be segregated so no funny business transpires.
Zia and Kirk ride again.
I guess our debut gig of 5 country covers was good enough to get us a follow up gig.
This time we’ll be performing two songs by John Lennon and one by Jim Morrison.
Come down to Eastend tomorrow night (tuesday) to find out which ones.
Peace.
I come to the Oddy today (always a big mistake) and the place is torn up because of some dumb remodeling. Because we live underwater in the Northwest, everything everywhere is damp all the time. That’s great for you skin, but pretty awful for carpets. When we had that flood in the Big Room (!!) it was decided to rip up the carpet in the Grey Room and take care of the water seepage-slash-mold problem there. BORING. Thor is in there right now, hammering something. So you can see where recording would be prohibited just now. The band is rehearsing, though. Right now. “Godless.” The thing I am most displeased about is the coffee today. It is pretty weak.

ITEM. Aren’t you excited about these big Italian Christmas shows? I am! (Not sarcastic!) I will be working during the shows – showing movies with Scotty – but you will need a ticket to get in. For Seattle, go here, and for the PDX shows, go here. I really want to see 1776 on the 13th. I just did the art for their new album and I haven’t even seen them play live yet, that’s how dumb I am.
ITEM. A reminder about the Beat The World Guild Guitar Contest. This contest ends January 5th, so you had better go to the BTW site and sign up. Plus, Elliott told me last night that the guitar being given away is the same model Pete is using in the “I Dreamt Of Yes” video. Trivia!
Here are the first two tracks from my favorite record. This group is called The Whole Noyse. They’re from San Francisco. I came across this a couple years ago and it’s been topping the charts in my house and computer since the day I got it. I have also been trying to get them to play on our next record. Not sure where that stands. Their record is called Lo Splendore d’Italia. I have a feeling it will get a lot more airplay at our upcoming Italian themed Xmas shows. Fun.
