Video: Day Off in Smith Co.
These are my relatives with whom I stay twice a year (only spring and fall because of humidity) and basically just do this. They live outside Jackson Mississippi. A week before tour I noticed that we had a day off in Jackson so of course I had to hook it up. I couldn’t believe that I got to bring most of my closest friends there on tour this year. Crazy. What a day.

Courtney’s Books: The Angel’s Game
This guy can really write an amazing sentence or fifty. So much smart n snappy dialogue that I find myself skimming over it sometimes in the hope of getting to a pocket of plot.
Now there are several pretty major subplots intertwining til ya don’t know which is imperative and I usually like that, but there’s some kind of cheese in the mix here thats not working for my palette. It gets boring-ish fairly regularly but he’s just such a great thinker and writer of amazing sentences that I’m definitely sticking it out til the end. I’m halfway thru now.

Agatha Christie on posh English steroids. Um, Wry. Thirteen pages in and it’s awesome. Apparently I’m aquiring a talent hfor pulling gems off of shelves of shit. Phew, cuz this flight home is ten hours 38 minutes.

Courtney’s Books: Ready Player One (Follow-up)
Ready Player One. Holyfrigginmole’. The most fun you can have alone with your clothes on. Uber nerd shit taken to a new level. Or maybe to its logical conclusion.
It’s like he wrote a sci fi novel for the sole purpose of name checking the zillion things (video games, sci fi books/80s movies etc) he loves the most. And he ended up being really really good at it.
Get this book.
And by the way I love that he name checks Richard K Morgan in the same breath as William Gibson, Neil Stephenson and JRR Tolkein. Hellzyes.
