The Dandy Warhols 2010 North American Tour resumes Wednesday night as we cross the border to Victoria for a show at Sugar Nightclub. Then it’s on to Vancouver the next night at Commodore Ballroom, and Seattle’s Showbox at the Market on Friday, December 3rd. We pick back up in San Diego (Solana Beach) on Tuesday, December 7th at Belly Up, then over to a rare show in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock on Wednesday the 8th. On Friday, December 10th we are in Los Angeles at Club Nokia, then up the coast to the City and County of San Francisco and the Regency Ballroom on Saturday (12/11) before returning home to Portland on Sunday the 12th for the final Dandys show of the year at the Crystal Ballroom.
Plus, some lucky so-and-sos will have a chance to win tickets to our shows in Seattle, LA, and SF from TheRFW.COM. God bless us everyone!
Portland rock club Satyricon , dubbed by some as CBGB of the West Coast, will be closing its doors forever in October, but not without a month-long send off for a quarter century of service to the Portland rock community.
When The Dandys were asked to participate in this send off, we said “of course.” Some of the band’s most memorable moments from its formative years took place between Satyricon’s graffitied walls. It was a no-brainer to ask Swoon 23 and Sugarboom, friends and Tim/Kerr label mates, to join us. Yeah, that’s a pretty legendary line-up. But then we thought, huh, what’s missing from this picture. Well, it turned out that missing piece was Eric Hedford. So, for the first time in over twelve years, Eric Hedford, drummer and founding member of The Dandy Warhols, will be performing with the band.
I know it sounds too good to be true. And if you were born before 1979, it is. See, we thought it that since this is kind of a scene reunion show that we have the party be for ages thirty-one (31) and over. Even worse news, I’m sure there will be no smoking allowed. Have you ever seen a clear Satyricon? I haven’t. Seems wrong.
How does one go about getting tickets? Lee has the answer:
So here’s the deal…
There’s a total of 240 tickets available for the 10/16 Satyricon gig and 2 ways to make sure you get tickets.
1st way – We’re reserving the first 140 tix for Pre Sale starting 9/21 at Noon PST. Access to the presale will be given to anyone who purchases Pre Sale [see below — g.] tickets to our 12/12 Crystal Ballroom show. Put simply. Purchase Pre Sale tickets to The Dandy Warhols Crystal Ballroom gig on 12/12 and you’ll get the first chance to purchase tickets for Satyricon.
2nd way – On 9/23 at Noon PST we’ll release the last 100 tickets to the general public. The ticket link will be live on dandywarhols.com.
We seriously dig fashion, and fashion has always dug us. So it’s supercool that we have been asked to play at Fashion’s Night Out Los Angeles this Friday in LA at Ron Herman on Melrose.
PRPS and Ron Herman present a special live musical performance by indie rock darlings The Dandy Warhols in celebration of Fashions Night Out Los Angeles. As a part of Vogue’s global initiative to celebrate fashion and promote retail, this highly anticipated Los Angeles shopping night will feature exciting showcases from renowned LA designers, photographers, and artists all under one roof…
See? Darlings. We invite you to come on by if you’re around. Other cool cats like Mark Mothersbaugh (!!), Taylor Jacobson, Shanna Moakler, Holly Robinson Peete, Garth Trinidad, Camryn Manheim, and some of our BRMC friends will be there.
The big whoop on Fashion’s Night Out can be found HERE.
Sisters of Mercy were awesome last night. Andrew Eldritch marches around like a drill sergeant and sings like the coolest dude ever. Both of his guitarists are smokin too. Couldn’t get a great pic cuz they’re busy winning the award for most smoke machines. After the show Andrew assured me that they actually need more.
Here’s the bill for this festy. That’s Gang of Two on now. Then us. Then Sisters of Mercy.
I just woke up from three days in Amsterdam. Notice Motley Crue on this list? Tommy took a cab from here to Amsterdam to see our show and hang out for a couple days. Apparently it cost around 500 bucks. Love that guy.
