Zia and Travis are expecting their first baby, Matilda Louise, November 9th. Zia saw the first ultrasound yesterday, and apparently, Matilda has Zia’s nose. “Yeah, but all babies have your nose,” Odditorium smartypants Scott Simons was heard to say.
Zia is planning on printing up some TDW baby clothes with our banana logo and selling them this summer. Stay tuned.

The first day of summer finds Portland cloudy and cool. Well, so far. It’s not turned hot yet, but I expect the place to turn into Rio de Janeiro any second now. Court and Fathead have other plans, though, for the forthcoming week. The Slimmer Twins will be in sunny (??) Los Angeles for the DIG! premier at the Los Angeles Film Festival this Friday (06/25). Howdy do. Drop by and say hi, if you can get through the throngs of industry goons. Thick as thieves they will be, we expect.
UPDATE: Zia and Peter are now going to fly down for the L.A. premierE as well. So, if you’re in the US, this is probably your only chance to see the four of them together all year.

We Do This For The Dinners
We had an amazing time this week doing what we do best, throwing fancy dinner parties and entertaining out-of-town guests. Our friend David dropped by The Odditorium on Monday (04/12) for a tour and a quick game of pool.. Then it was dinner for David’s band, made for us by our friends at Obo. Unbelievable. After dinner, a little informal All-Star Jam with us and David’s band. They’re amazing, they really are. The show (04/13) at the Rose Garden was over the top. These people are pros. Hats off to David and his friends, drop by anytime.

While that would have been enough for most rockers, we still had work to do. No, not on our new record (we hear you, we’re gonna get into it), but we had more out-of-towners to entertain. By fate or dumb luck or both, Wednesday (04/14), The Strokes, The Vines, and Jet were all in town. So we said “Hey, c’mon over–you know what the roof looks like.” So, it was Big Rock and Roll Dinner pt. 2. with food by our friends at Colosso, followed by The Vines/Jet show at Roseland, followed by one of those late night rock parties that your mother always warned you about. After the mess was finally cleaned up late Thursday (04/15) afternoon, it was time for The Strokes show at Roseland. Sadly the night before had burned through our twelve cases of free Guinness we received just for being The Dandy Warhols, so no party was held, which is good, because our new smoke-eater was really starting to wheeze. :cough:

Hey, what’s going on? Yesterday, we started recording some basic tracks for our next record. Just some drum stuff, some piano stuff. We were just fucking around, so we didn’t get any video or anything of this, but we should have kind of video or pics up of what we have done to the studio in the past month to get ready for recording mode. It looks pretty amazing.
Oh yeah, just to let you all know, we will not be touring this summer to the usual places. We will be playing a few–very, very, very limited–festivals, but not ones we have been to before, not in locales we have played before. Cool? Ciao.

Hey, remember when Ondi Timoner was following Jonestown and us around, like for almost a decade. Remember we told you she was making a movie about us? Remember you said that the movie would never see the light of day? Well you were right there–movie’s can’t been shown in the light of day. It’s almostimpossible.
Ondi’s finished movie, Dig, is kicking the shit out of everyone who comes in contact with it. Courtney narrates the tale of two notorious bands forever entwined, one on a path of clear destruction and the other …. Jesus, that sounds corny. Hopefully, you will be able to see the film for yourself in the cool theater in the cool part of your town soon. Meanwhile, visit the movie’s site, digthemovie.com for news and other info on the flick.
NO SHOWS WHAT?
