Mad World and Carsick

Two books I got for my birthday. These are both great. John Waters of course is brilliant. This is him hitch-hiking from his place in Baltimore to his place in SF. He is very clever and this is a really fun read so far. If you’re yet to leave on vacation get this before you go.

Mad World is great reference material for the most influential bands of the era and more importantly the “why” of their success. Actually or possibly more importantly is that its written by an amazingly clever writer. (And also one good and sensible writer (two writers). The gal Lori is stunning though. Totally worth the price of admission. Maybe see if there are some excerpts online and check out what I mean. Pretty incredible.

Well we just spent two days having the best time ever. We really fell in love with these bands.

When we finally got on the bus last night and headed to Austria we found ourselves pretty wistful that when we woke up today all these amazing people would no longer be there to hang out with. Summer camp was over. What a gang. We miss em already.

CTT Tour Photos From The Past Few Days When His Phone Wouldn’t Send Photos For Some Dumb Reason

Had a great party with the London Police, Fujiya Miyagi, Gomez, some gothic drag queens and of course the Dark Horses. Don’t they look like they’re having fun.

Had great weather for our last day in the UK. Good espresso here but I must admit the carrot cake tasted like bleached white flour.

One more thing about Oxford. Sure it’s the premier college of earth or whatever but when ya walk around the city with all the rest of the normal people you can’t help but think: “OXFORD: MOST OF US ARE ACTUALLY PRETTY STUPID.”

And check out all that ancient architecture.

After cruising around on matching bikes with Claudio DeAngeli and his moustache (the two coolest guys in Italy) eating pasta bolognese then gelato and then the ultimate lovely double espresso which nobody seems to be able to do outside of this country, we rode out into the hills and up to the St Luca cathedral.

Now that’s exactly what I mean when I say I need a day off.

Alrighty. Time for a nap then back to food plus I’m goin face-first into the local Italian wines. Wish me luck.
