Courtney Likes A Record: Cage & The Elephant

Have I ever reviewed a new record? I don’t think so. I don’t review records.

I just listened to the new Cage the Elephant record. Um wow. Boys? Wtf. I’m afraid I’ll not stop listening to this one for a long time. I get the feeling I’m going to develop a little problem with it actually. Now that I think about it I’ll have to carry my ipod around and have to remember where I put my headphones. The extra weight in my manpurse is surely going to give me scoliosis. I’ll start having to sit down during our sets. I’ll forget what time it is or where I’m supposed to be.

Damn. I sure hope I get tired of it by our next tour.

Every time I come here I mean to post up but then the wine and frankish food sort of make the phone seem real far away. Anyhoo I love this place. We had our 20th anniversary of our 1st show here.

Whoa. Cage the Elephant is sick live.

A lot of amazing songs. The intial rush sort of gets a bit much. Lotta pro style show here. Goddamn their singer has become an amazing thing. Such great songs.

What a great time I had with the Foals and Cage the Elephant. It was like being on tour again. This is somehow the only photo from the odditorium portion of our evening. And it’s from very late. Actually after pretty much everyone had left. The committed. This is the guy who wrote one of thee singles of the millenium. “Pumped Up Kicks.” Awesome song and what a phenominon. Really cool cat too,

The wind chill factor at Venice was sub arctic so I ended up looking like a local freak to keep my ears from falling off. Nobody asked me for spare change. There was a dude with a sign that said “kick me in the nuts: 10$ guys. 5$ girls.”

I didn’t have exact change.

Stood here for a while watching these nuts get horizontal at like 40 miles an hour. There are little kids in there too and these dudes will take a serious wipe out to avoid hitting em. Pretty bad ass. Or just fugging crazy.
