Tour Report

The last leg of our touring for the year has got off to a great start. With the 3rd show being my favorite so far.

Here is a very flattering review of the Seattle show.

PS: This means we’ve played three great shows in a row in Seattle (Neumo’s, Bumbershoot and Showbox), a place I always considered us to be hit or miss.  Nice to know we’ve got a place so close to home we can now count on enjoying. Way to go Seattle fans!

The Vintage Caper

Our gig last night was magic. If I had gotten more than seven hours of sleep I’d still be reading but I’m too tired to concentrate on one thing for more than a few minutes. Or pages.

This is a whodunnit about a three-million dollar wine heist. I’m in heaven. It also happens to be written by my favorite kind of modern writer: a wit who can keep out of his own way.

Check out this cool, um,”art” installation on the U.S./Canadian border. (Click to enlarge.)

North American Tour Resumes Wednesday

The Dandy Warhols 2010 North American Tour resumes Wednesday night as we cross the border to Victoria for a show at Sugar Nightclub.  Then it’s on to Vancouver the next night at Commodore Ballroom, and Seattle’s Showbox at the Market on Friday, December 3rd.  We pick back up in San Diego (Solana Beach) on Tuesday, December 7th at Belly Up, then over to a rare show in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock on Wednesday the 8th. On Friday, December 10th we are in Los Angeles at Club Nokia, then up the coast to the City and County of San Francisco and the Regency Ballroom on Saturday (12/11) before returning home to Portland on Sunday the 12th for the final Dandys show of the year at the Crystal Ballroom.

Plus, some lucky so-and-sos will have a chance to win tickets to our shows in Seattle, LA, and SF from TheRFW.COM. God bless us everyone!

Big Takeover Review 10/30/10

Here is something I found today that I liked.

Big Takeover: The Dandy Warhols with Blue Giant-The Vic Theater (Chicago, IL)-Saturday, October 30th, 2010

CLIPPED …More than anything, their 2 hour set brought about a sense of rich perspective on the band’s best works, which are definitely something to be proud of. “Not If You Were the Last Junkie on Earth” and “We Used to Be Friends” appeared quite early on and garnered a great camaraderie amongst Dandies fans. “I Love You” was ripe with a keener sense of lust and Taylor sang “Holiday” in its most stripped down form by himself after excusing the band and quipping that they all needed to take a break and use the restroom. “Boys Better,” “Bohemian Like You,” and “Get Off” came later and felt epically catchy. Another highlight, “Good Morning” provided such a rich melancholy that one couldn’t help but close her/his eyes just to feel the pleasurable waves pass through the thick air hovering about….
